The Bear Original Mattress Overview Bear Mattress Vs Inside Sales

The Bear Original mattress premium all-foam mattress is packed with special features and functions that provide quick recovery and efficient comfort. Priced at $748 (Queen-size), it is geared toward active individuals such as athletes, first responders, and frontliners. It contains a top comfort layer of graphite-gel memory foam equipped to cushion the body’s pressure points and contour the silhouette. Bear Mattress Vs Inside Sales

The Bear’s cooling properties are also due to the mattress’s open cell foam technology and its medically tested Celliant cover. This makes it a rare memory foam mattress that has this unique advantage.

Benefits and disadvantages

We were able to evaluate the Bear mattress’s firmness and overall performance in our previous article. Based on our observations, it ranks 7 out of 10 in our comfort level ranking, making it a medium-firm bed. When it came to analysing through a series of performance tests, there were a couple of fascinating things that we found:

  • The pressure relief was adequate for most sleepers. We found that the memory foam was stacked on top the high-density foundation. This meant that it held most pressure points well, particularly at the back.
  • You can expect excellent motion isolation from an all-foam mattress.
  • The Bear’s overall design allows for easy movement and conforms well to their bodies.

While it’s worth noting its fantastic benefits, we should also mention that it has a few limits, particularly when it comes to heavyweight sleepers using the mattress. The Bear Original isn’t as good for heavy people. They may find the mattress a little uncomfortable, although they might get the support and comfort it provides.

Who Should Use the Bear Original?

  • Those who prefer sleeping on memory foam but don’t appreciate the sinking feeling at the same time
  • Athletes, first responders, and other active individuals
  • Couples looking for a best-value mattress with the best edge support and motion transfer
  • Average and light back sleepers looking for a valuable bed with a feeling that’s similar to an innerspring model

Bear Mattress vs. Casper (Casper Original)

Casper is a bed-in-a-box brand that offers a wide range of high-quality mattress models, each designed for many different personal circumstances, at affordable prices. Established in 2014, Casper is one of the first direct-to-consumer mattress companies to popularize bed-in-a-box delivery as we know it today.

The Casper Original is its flagship mattress and it is one of the most loved. The Casper Original measures 12 inches in height and offers a medium-firm level of comfort that most people will love. Casper Original’s queen-size variant costs $1,295, which makes it more expensive than the Bear mattress of $998. The Casper company offers a 10-year warranty on its namesake bestseller and a 100-night sleep trial period.

Similarities

Both the Casper and Bear mattresses offer stellar cooling abilities from the get-go. Only the difference between the two mattresses is in how they do it. Casper uses its AirScape technology to allow airflow. Bear uses open-cell foam, graphite gel infusion and Celliant bed covers to neutralize body temperature while it sleeps. Both foam beds work well at cooling the sleeper, despite being foam beds.

The Casper and Bear have enough features to make them ideal for sleepers under 230 lbs. The memory foam layer on each mattress is designed to contour their bodies, alleviate pressure points and maintain their spine alignment.

Differences

The Casper has a dedicated zoned support layer of memory foam. The second layer of the mattress consists two layers: a soft top and bottom panel to cushion the shoulders and lower extremities, and a thicker middle one to support the hips, waist and lower back. This provides additional comfort and relief.

The Casper, as previously mentioned, has a medium-firm comfort level. It’s much more comfortable than the Bear Original. Although there are some drawbacks, such as difficulty in moving, the Casper is much more comfortable for side-sleepers.

Who Should Use the Casper Original?

  • For those who want a premium foam bed that has all the Bear’s features and extra cushioning for their hips, back, shoulders, and hips
  • Sleepers who love the sinking sensation when they lay down on the bed
  • Individuals and couples looking for exceptional motion isolation.

Bear Mattress vs. Purple (Purple Mattress)

Purple is a company that specializes in the development of innovative technologies to improve sleep quality. You may know them best for their groundbreaking purple gel-grid polymer. This material was originally used to cushion wheelchairs. However, it has since revolutionized the mattress and sleep industry in many ways. Bear Mattress Vs Inside Sales

The 9.5-inch-thick Purple Mattress showcases the company’s contributions to sleepers from all walks of life. It consists of a four-inch foundational base and a 3.5″ transitional polyfoam. Unlike the Bear and other similar mattresses, the transitional layer is thicker, allowing the body to conform to the surface without worrying about sinking. The Purple’s firmness is at the same level as the Bear Original but steeper in price at $1,399 (Queen-size).

Similarities

Although the Purple bed’s signature grid layer is different from the Bear, it provides back sleepers with the most comfortable comfort possible. The polymer grid is gel-infused; as the person lies down on the Purple, the gel in the grid activates, and it instantly adjusts to the person’s weight and sleeping position.

The Purple Mattress has exceptional cooling abilities that match the Bear Original. Both beds have the same firmness. If we were to rank Purple’s comfort level we would confidently rate it at 7/10.

Differences

The Purple’s overall feel is so different that you can immediately tell when you first lay down on it. The Bear’s memory foam feel is still there, but the Purple Mattress has a unique surface which, when activated, becomes flexible and responsive to your body’s ever-changing movement. This gives it an advantage over all the rest. The Purple is, among other things, much easier to navigate than the Bear.

We can appreciate the endless possibilities of the Purple mattress, but it is hard to overlook the steep price tag. The Bear mattress is around $300 more expensive than the Purple.

Who should use the Purple Mattress?

  • People who like to sleep on the mattress’s top
  • For heavyweight sleepers, a foam mattress that supports their weight is a must.
  • Those who usually sleep flat on the back (shoulder and stomach sleepers can also try this)

Bear Mattress vs. Leesa (Leesa Original)

Leesa is among the first modern direct-to-consumer companies that, like Casper, have popularized the bed-in-a-box delivery system. It offers a wide range of models, from all-foam to hybrid. The company’s bestselling Sapira hybrid beds and Legend hybrid beds have received high praise, but the Leesa Original is still a fan favorite product offering. It costs $1,199 (Queen size) and is their most affordable option.

The Leesa Original mattress is made up of a layer of memory foam and a layer of special polyfoam. Its firmness may be a bit softer than Bear’s in comparison, but it manages to strike a balance between contouring and responsiveness. It’s easy to see why their flagship mattress is still in high demand today, thanks to Leesa’s outstanding customer service hotline.

Similarities

The Leesa measures approximately 10 inches tall, which is the same height as Bear’s mattress. However, they have much more in common than just height similarities. They also addressed the issue of heat buildup, which is a common problem with all-foam mattresses. The Leesa utilizes the specialty top layer to help cool down the sleeper.

Another thing this bed has in common with the Bear is responsiveness. Memory foam mattresses are notorious for slow response times over the years. However, both the Leesa as well as the Bear are exempted.

There are differences

The memory foam in the Bear and Leesa is responsive and has memory foam, but we should not overlook how each uses this material. The Bear Original’s memory foam is used as a top comfort layer. The Leesa is placed in the middle of the mattress as a transitional layer.

Additionally, the latter’s top layer is not just made solely of polyfoam but also a mix of memory foam. As a result, the Leesa mattress’s overall comfort level is much softer than Bear’s. It’s also slightly bouncier. Bear Mattress Vs Inside Sales

Who Should Use the Leesa Original?

  • Those looking for a much more responsive foam mattress
  • Sleepers who enjoy laying on high-quality beds that provide extra cushioning
  • Socially conscious individuals – Leesa has held initiatives to donate and provide beds to children in need of quality sleep

Bear Mattress vs. Nectar (Nectar Memory Foam)

Nectar is one of America’s most popular direct-to-consumer brands, stealing the hearts of a diverse range of sleepers. They’re best known for their flagship mattress, the company’s most in-demand product, and among the most sought-after overall. It delivers solid pressure relief and motion transfer.

We noticed that many of the characteristics of this mattress are very similar to those found in the Bear Original. We may have saved our closest, near-identical competitor for last, but while we can appreciate what we’ve discovered, it’s still worth noting that they have a few distinctions – we’ll go through all of it very shortly.

Similarities

First, let’s talk about the price: a Queen-sized variant of the Nectar mattress costs only $799. If you compare this price tag to the Bear mattress, you’ll notice the smaller difference between the two. While our previous beds cost hundreds of dollars higher, the Nectar only has a $50 difference. Both the Bear and this mattress are premium foam beds that are very affordable.

The Nectar’s firmness level is as medium-firm as Bear’s, although one of them is very slightly stiffer than the other. It is constructed in the same way: it has a high density foundation base, transitional polyfoam at the center, and a gel-infused, memory foam top. The combination gives the bed a lot of responsiveness, making it easy to move around.

The Nectar is made from a very simple material and should suit sleepers less than 230 lbs. Because of its excellent motion transfer capabilities, it should be a great choice to partner.

Differences

You could go on and forth about how identical the Nectar or Bear mattresses are to each other. But since they’re two different bed models, we should point out the differences as well. Among the most notable is the thickness of the comfort layer. The Nectar mattress’s memory foam portion is an inch thicker than Bear’s and as a result, it’s more ideal for persons who often sleep on the side.

Who Should Use the Nectar Memory Foam Mattress?

  • Those who want a medium-firm mattress that can also accommodate side sleepers
  • Persons suffering from joint and hip pains looking for a bed with exceptional pressure relief
  • Individuals and couples who aren’t interested in being disturbed by different movements.

Last Thoughts Bear Mattress Vs Inside Sales

We’re now nearing the end in our review of Bear vs. Casper. Purple, Leesa and Nectar. Let’s talk about their limitations. While we can stop by and admire all the benefits they bring to sleepers anywhere, we still need to remind ourselves that not all of them are perfect.

All-foam mattresses are not designed to provide a lot of edge support. You shouldn’t expect them to be accommodating to heavy persons, side sleepers, and stomach sleepers, either, as most are not readily equipped to handle large weights.

We’ve got all that covered. Now, let’s talk about some key tips for finding the perfect bed.

  1. Check if the mattress’s materials and construction are good enough to support you on the stomach, shoulders, and hips as much as the back
  2. You should inspect the surface of the bed and its responsiveness. If you like to sleep in it and don’t want to move around, the comfort level should feel softer. However, if you frequently change your position, a firmer surface might be the best choice.
  3. Does the perfect mattress have cooling abilities? Is it able to provide great edge support? Does it have the buoyancy you’re craving? These are just a few of the important questions you need to ask.

You can choose to use the Bear Original mattress or another type of mattress. All that matters is that you find the bed that will give you the best quality sleep. Bear Mattress Vs Inside Sales
