Buyer's Guide: How To Choose The Best Baby Sleep Sack
Standard or winter-weight ?
Baby or toddler size?
Use this guide to choose the best natural merino sleep sack for your baby.
Baby and Toddler Sizes
Merino Kids baby sleep sacks are available in two sizes:
Baby size sleep sack:
-
Fits babies up to two years old.
-
Minimum recommended baby weight is 7 lb (3.2 kg).
-
Length 33" (84 cm) from the high shoulder point.
Toddler size sleep sack:
-
Fits toddlers aged two to four years old.
-
Length 42" (106 cm) from the high shoulder point.
The contoured bodice fits snugly around your baby's chest and neckline and the fabric stays clear of their face when they twist and turn. As an extra safety feature, press studs (poppers) at the armholes adjust the fit for smaller babies.
Cocooi For Newborn Babies
The new Cocooi Newborn Sleep Bag is an international award-winning sleep sack designed especially for newborn babies. Its 100% natural New Zealand merino fabric is of the very finest quality and it's the perfect match for the Cocooi Newborn Baby Gown. The Cocooi Newborn Sleep Bag is especially good for those babies that resist swaddling because it keeps them warm and sleeping happily without the risk of overheating.
Stylish Striped Designs
Your child will look their very best in these stylish striped designs: Fairy Rose, French Navy, Cornflower, Oatmeal, Rose Hip (baby size only, limited stock), Wild Poppy (winter-weight baby size, limited stock), and Sandshell (winter-weight, baby and toddler sizes).

Standard and Winter Weights
The Merino Kids Baby Sleep Bag is your ideal all-year-round baby sleep sack, perfect for nursery room temperatures from 64°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C). Most rooms rise and fall in temperature throughout the night and day, and the natural merino fiber has the remarkable ability to maintain your baby's warmth without overheating. Simply dress your baby in more or fewer layers of natural-fabric sleepwear in cooler or warmer seasons. Try to avoid polyester sleepwear fabrics because they do not release heat and moisture.
For cooler rooms or during the winter season, we recommend the Merino Kids winter-weight sleep sacks, which have an additional layer of natural insulation and will keep your baby warm in room temperatures from 59°F to 68°F (15°C to 20°C). Merino Kids winter-weight sleeping bags are available in two sizes: Sandshell or Wild Poppy for babies up to two years old, and Sandshell for toddlers aged two to four years old.
Merino Kids baby sleep sacks can be used safely in a broader range of temperatures than non-merino sleep sacks because of merino's remarkable natural temperature-regulating properties. Use a standard Merino Kids baby sleep sack when you might otherwise use non-merino baby sleep sacks of TOG ratings 1.0 or 2.0. Use a winter-weight Merino Kids baby sleep sack when you might otherwise use non-merino baby sleep sacks of TOG ratings 2.0 or 2.5.
What To Wear Inside A Sleep Sack
We recommend dressing your child in natural merino wool pajamas to wear inside their sleep sack for them to get the optimum benefit of natural merino for sleeping. Merino Kids merino baby pajamas are perfect.
